BIOGRAPHY

Yasmin Osman is a multidisciplinary artist and painter born in Egypt, currently based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Working primarily with oil on canvas, and secondarily via immersive audiovisual installations. Her practice is deeply rooted in narrative, one in which each painting is approached as a fragment of a larger, unresolved story. A moment frozen in time that carries the charged suggestion of something having just occurred, or on the verge of unfolding. Themes of memory, presence, and the unspoken guide her work.

Oil painting is Osman’s chosen medium for translating these fleeting instants onto canvas. She’s drawn to the mysteries of everyday life. Those unanswered questions that linger. Rather than offering conclusions, her work creates openings. Each painting becomes a contemplative encounter, a place where the audience can project their own narratives and find themselves within the story. Her work is an exploration of how people see and remember. A moment that continues to unfold in the viewer’s imagination.

Yasmin Osman's photography work has been featured at the Cairo Opera House, and her posters were featured at the 100 Best Arabic Posters exhibition, 1st Edition. She has also participated in Film My Design, 1st Edition, reflecting her ongoing commitment to interdisciplinary dialogue and the intersection of painting with broader creative and cultural practices.
